Why take advantage?

Restored in 2018, the Kanndi de Mescoat is a place steeped in history, providing an insight into the rich economic past of the Léon region.

The Kanndi is a laundry house in Léon. Its etymology comes from the Breton "kannañ" (to bleach) and "ti" (house). Scattered throughout the countryside, these small laundries are part of the built heritage of the flax industry, whose trade helped develop the port of Landerneau, as well as the magnificent parish enclosures in Landerneau-Daoulas and Landivisiau.

The Kanndi is freely accessible all year round. Inside, a permanent exhibition explains the history and function of the site.
