Put on your boots!
The coastline of the Landerneau Daoulas region is particularly well-suited to shore fishing, offering numerous spots renowned for their richness and variety. As a family, take advantage of the high tides to enjoy this natural activity and discover the beauty of the natural scenery of the Brest roadstead, which should be preserved.
Guaranteed to amaze!
Put on your boots for a family outing
This weekend is high tide. Just the thing, the whole family's at home and the sun's shining. Accessible to all, fishing on foot is a 100% free pastime that amuses children and makes gourmets salivate. So, young and old, we're off to Logonna-Daoulas for a morning in the water.
What are tides?
A natural phenomenon, high tides are linked to the attraction of the moon and sun to the earth. During full moons, the sun and moon are aligned with the earth, so the attraction is stronger. High tides are defined as those with a coefficient of over 90.

Shellfish and crustaceans...
What's there to fish for?
The foreshore offers a wealth of delicacies for those who know where to find and cook them: oysters, clams, razor clams, cockles, prawns, barnacles, periwinkles, scallops...and also crabs, curlers and shrimps. Armed with our landing nets and spoons, we set off in search of culinary treasures at the Pointe du Bendy. Clams can be discovered after digging a few centimetres. Periwinkles are not hard to find, hidden behind the brown seaweed. You can see the wonder in the children's eyes!
Protecting the environment
Responsible fishing
And what better way to raise awareness of the need to preserve the marine ecosystem than with a fishing trip? The creeks and shores of the Brest bay are rich and varied natural spaces that need to be protected:
- In our baskets, we only put shellfish that respect the minimum size and in the authorized quantity.
- Lifted rocks must be put back in place.
- Do not fish near marine cultures (oyster beds, mussel beds) or port areas.
- Do your bit for nature by picking up any litter lying around on the foreshore.
Don't forget...
When you go fishing, don't forget to bring your fishing ruler with you to find out the sizes and quantities in force. Fishing charts are available from the Tourist Office.
